Good Shepherd is now open as a school community after many, many months of preparation. On Wednesday 30 January 2013 we welcomed sixty-seven students to our excellent educational facility. The journey has now commenced, history is in the making … as an Archdiocesan Catholic Primary School community. We will provide a proud history of extraordinary opportunities and countless possibilities, creating an educational school of excellence within the Springfield Lakes community.
Good Shepherd staff come with a wide range of experience, skills and expertise and a deep commitment to provide students with quality relationships and positive learning experiences. They look forward to working closely with our students and parents/caregivers.
We belong to the welcoming, inclusive parish community of Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish and partner with the well-established and highly regarded St Augustine’s College at Augustine Heights.
Our families form a critical part of the tapestry that will become Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School, Springfield Lakes. I invite you, in this time of establishment to contribute your time, skills and energy to create a spirit of care, hospitality, cooperation and respect; and a community that values and promotes authentic learning and positive relationships.

seven Year 3 students will be participating in the
NAPLAN test. We have asked them to do their best as
all were extremely nervous about their first NAPLAN
experience.
BLESSING OF THE SITE ANNIVERSARY
It is twelve months since Archbishop Mark Coleridge
blessed the land that our school has been built on. We
can agree that so much has occurred since 17 May
2012. Some of our families were present at this important
occasion as well as Liz Weier and myself. We
have certainly observed the transformation!!

LETTER FROM A PARENT
The following is taken from a section of a beautiful letter received from one of our families last week who have moved to New Zealand . We wish them well and our blessings from our Good Shepherd community go with them.
"We as a family were looking forward to having both of our children grow up in the Good Shepherd Community. If in the future we return to Brisbane we would hope to have the opportunity to place our children back in the care of you and your team. Thank you for the care and development that you have offered to our child. We have always felt that she was safe and loved in the care of her teacher, Rebecca and are sad that our daughter will not continue to grow under her guidance. I believe that Liz is the best auxillary staff member I have ever met and as such plays a significant role in making a great school with a great leader exceptional. Judith, it is easy to see that you have a genuine love for the kids and as such your leadership is more than just a job for you. I pray that many more teachers will be inspired by you and in turn inspire others along the way. I believe that your influence on both your staff and the students is a lasting legacy".
It goes without saying that we will miss this beautiful family . May God bless them.
FUNDRAISING FOR "COINS FOR COOPER"
Here at Good Shepherd we are supporting the fundraising effort of "Coins For Cooper" - funding research into brain tumours and assisting families whose lives have been affected by childhood cancer. On our next Well-being day – Wednesday 22nd May we ask that the children come dressed in their brightest, happiest clothes and bring a donation for Coins for Cooper. You can follow Cooper's Journey through Facebook:

ENROLMENTS PREP - YEAR 5, 2014
Good Shepherd is now accepting applications for enrolments from our school families, parish and the wider community for our 2014 Prep Year. A child born between 1 July 2008 - 30 June 2009 will be eligible for the preparatory year of schooling before commencing Year 1 in 2015. We are also accepting enrolments for students for Years 1-5.
Once the Enrolment Application Form has been downloaded, parents will need to complete it and forward the enrolment application to Good Shepherd with the child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate and immunisation information. All enrolments for 2014 will need to occur through an enrolment interview process with the child present. Preference for enrolment will be given to siblings, Catholic families and then families from other religious faiths.
